Medical Director
Dr. Gene Savransky is a trained expert in Interventional Nephrology, Anesthesiology, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. After graduating from Kharkiv State Medical Academy in the Ukraine in 1985, he practiced Anesthesiology and Critical Care in a level 1 trauma hospital in Kharkiv. After immigrating to the United States, Dr. Savransky completed an Internal Medicine residency, and then a Pulmonary Diseases fellowship program at Cabrini Medical Center. He then proceeded with training in Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, where he continued to work, and rose to the position of a Medical Director of Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Savransky has trained more than fifty Critical Care Fellows, and has current academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In 2004, Dr. Savranky, a natural proceduralist, decided to dedicate his skills to the sub-specialty of Interventional Nephrology.
Since 2004, Dr. Savransky has trained and perfected his skills with published experts in the field of Interventional Nephrology. In 2007, he accepted a position in the Bellmore, Nassau County location. Since joining American Access Care full-time, he has created a new paradigm of dialysis access interventions for patients of Nassau County. A consummate professional, Dr. Savransky has introduced advanced, minimally invasive techniques to his patients. A variety of services, from fistula maturation to repair of dialysis associated steal syndrome, are performed in the office daily. Patients, previously told their dialysis access is beyond repair, are routinely finding excellent outcomes at the skilled hands of Dr. Savransky.
The diverse medical background of Dr. Savransky and his staff allows the patients to receive advanced procedures previously performed only in the hospital setting. A previous five-day hospitalization has been condensed to a three-hour outpatient office visit. Graft and fistula thrombectomies, as well as catheter procedures, are routinely performed with what he calls painless, minimally invasive surgery. Patients presenting to his office routinely rate the experience as outstanding. The office is open six days a week to accommodate the needs of all patients.
Dr. Savransky has developed an outpatient for chronic venous insufficiency and varicose veins. He specializes in all aspects of varicose vein evaluation and treatment including spider veins, bulging varicose veins, and associated venous ulcerations. His vein treatment practice uses state-of-the-art techniques that will tailor treatment to the root of your problem, based on the results of a detailed ultrasound examination, and have you back on your feet the same day.
